The Gravel20
The Gravel20 is a cycling route across Corsica, designed specifically for gravel bikes and validated on the ground.
From north to south — or from south to north — the route follows a simple logic: to offer a realistic, rideable and fluid route, far from busy roads, by combining gravel tracks, secondary roads and tertiary roads with very low traffic.
Over approximately 500 km, the Gravel20 route incorporates around 100 km of gravel tracks, complemented by a network of secondary and tertiary roads with very low traffic. This choice is deliberate: it ensures the continuity, fluidity, and overall coherence of the route, while avoiding artificial breaks or sections that are difficult to ride in real-world conditions.
The Gravel20 is not looking for gravel at all costs. It prioritizes a logical, realistic and enjoyable ride, where each section — track or road — has been chosen for its interest, safety and integration into the overall route.
Each segment has been tested, adjusted and designed in real-world conditions, always with the possibility of joining the road to adapt to weather, fatigue or logistical constraints.
The Gravel20 is aimed at intermediate to advanced gravel cyclists who want to discover Corsica in a different way, with a reliable, legible route and a real understanding of the terrain.

Why the Gravel 20?

Demand for gravel routes is exploding, along with a growing desire for mixed road/off-road adventures.
In Corsica, the gravel bike is THE ideal bike : it saves you from having to choose between a road bike (limited on stony tracks and damaged roads) and a mountain bike (too technical on asphalt and less pleasant on long rolling sections).
Gravel: With its wide tires (ideally 40 mm minimum against the omnipresent stones), its versatile geometry and its lightened road look, the gravel goes everywhere — small secondary roads, rideable gravel tracks, forest paths — without major compromises.
It's total freedom: switch between asphalt and off-road in the blink of an eye, without unnecessary detours or excessive carrying (the bike remains light enough to be carried if needed). Perfect for bikepacking, challenging cycle touring, and authentic island discovery.
Most importantly: the Gravel 20 route has been validated on the ground and helps avoid the most common pitfalls in Corsica : tracks that appear on maps but are actually closed, private, overgrown, impassable for gravel bikes, blocked by landslides, or prohibited for cyclists. It prioritizes continuity, safety, and the enjoyment of riding, with the option to switch at any time between a gravel and a road version depending on the weather, fatigue, or logistics.
And the good news is: it's also very accessible by electric bike (e-gravel or e-hybrid). The 11,500 meters of elevation gain become much more manageable, the long climbs less intimidating, and you can fully enjoy the scenery without exhausting yourself. Charging is possible in the villages and guesthouses—it's the ideal option for those who want to experience the Gravel 20 adventure without being seasoned athletes.
In summary: the Gravel 20 is the perfect answer for a Corsica that refuses to be confined to a single category of bicycle.
